Before moving to Canada in 2010 to study abroad, Leona had never left her hometown of Chengdu.
To Leona, embracing change is a central theme of her life. During the decade that she has spent in Canada, she transformed from a high school student into a budding, young designer and wholeheartedly looks back at this period as one of the happiest times in her life.
Leona studied Fine Art History at the University of Toronto (U of T), where she learned about the intrinsic relationship between art, individuals, and cultures. During her time at U of T, she discovered that “good design” brings both art and effectiveness together and, in doing so, inspires and enhances daily life. This motivated Leona to become a creative UX/UI designer, allowing her to focus on her passion for bringing solutions and inspirations to people’s everyday lives.
For Leona, there is no such thing as a big or small design job. Every design project she tackles helps her become a better designer.
When she isn’t creating a new homepage design or updating brand standards guides, you’ll find Leona spending her weekends on PlayStation, KTV or hanging out with her friends.
