New HST Effective July 1st
How will Ontario's tax changes affect your website?
As announced in the 2009 Ontario Budget, the Provincial Sales Tax (PST) will be merged with the federal Goods and Services Tax (GST) to create a Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) for Ontario, effective July 1, 2010.
If you currently have a website with any type of e-commerce and do business in Ontario, you will likely be affected by these changes.
Because of the time-sensitive nature of changes required for the HST implementation, we will be working to expedite webmastering requests related to these critical e-commerce changes. All requests with respect to this will be managed on a first come, first serve basis.
Feel free to contact your Treefrog Account Manager to discuss your website and possible HST implications for your e-business.
Please note that this information is being provided for informational purposes only. Treefrog encourages you to do your own research and consult your accountant for personalized information about how HST may affect your business.
