Bike to Work Day
The Frogs Take to the Road with Smart Commute
The Frogs were up bright and early this Monday, May 31st to participate in Bike to Work Day. A joint venture from Smart Commute Central York and the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce, the event is held annually to promote environmentally friendly commuting options.
This year Treefrog offered up 5 participants: Jono Guthrie (our resident cycling expert), Rachel Guthrie, Jordon Davidson, Eric Knibbe and Jessica Joyce. Many thanks to Jono and Rachel for coordinating a training run earlier this month to ensure the Frogs were in peak condition for the morning's event.
Special mention goes to Eric for undertaking the longest bike to work, having travelled over 15 kilometres from his home! (We'll have to get some of our Barrie commuters into the groove next year to beat Eric's record).
In 2009, Bike to Work Day drew more than 240 enthusiastic participants, and Treefrog is proud to support this "green" initiative in 2010. We also highly approve of the green T-shirts that participants received!
